Meet Melwin, a recent graduate from Chung Ling High School, Penang!  The former Secretary-General of his school's Model United Nations Club has participated in the World Scholars Cup and numerous MUNs throughout high school. Apart from taking interest in politics and global issues, he is a science enthusiast that won the First Place Award in Chemistry at the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair 2019 in the USA for his research project. He has also met Nobel Laureates in Physics and Chemistry at the International Science Youth Forum in Singapore and a former NASA astronaut during his visit to Penang. 

 

Having had much experience in MUN and also scientific research, he believes that science is not only about conducting experiments and memorising facts, but it also requires some form of public speaking, debate, critical thinking and even the proficiency in the English language to convince the audience.

 

He is always passionate in sharing his experience about science and politics and is most willing to help others in need.

When he’s not playing PC games, he likes to read books while listening to classical music. He enjoys comedy but is terrible at telling jokes.
